de nuevo en casa

"I would say welcome to Peru, but I will say to you all-welcome home"

Yep. That is how I feel. I remember last trip, the feeling of coming home when I looked out the window as we started our descent to Peru. You're riding in the plane and you see the snow capped mountains and the sea of white clouds shrouding them. You plunge through the whiteness and the land appears. When that happened again today my heart skipped some beats I am sure of it.

We made it! Here we are in Peru! Some of us for the third time!!! How amazing is that?! Pretty much incredible.
It was so good to be riding in the bus and watch us nearly collide multiple times with the other commuters. I know that sounds funny but it's just part of being here. Seeing the people once again expanded my heart to where I thought it was going to explode.

We took the drive from the airport to our hotel along the coast. There were tons of brave souls willing to face the fierce waters and surf the white waves. It was so awesome to be able to share those sights with the new people that are here for the first time. To see them be so excited made me laugh because I knew they were enjoying every minute of it all.

The hotel is different from the last times but it is beautiful. All of us were pretty tired from the traveling so we went to our rooms and had a couple of hours to refresh and then we met up in the lobby. Mamma Carmen is here and so we followed her to a room where we wrapped gifts that we will be taking to the hospital tomorrow. The plan is that we will visit a couple hospitals with young cancer patients and just spend time with them and give the gifts out.

And yes, the Peruvian coffee is just as good (if not better) as I remember. Made a great closure to this first day in Peru.

I know He is has already started working. I see it in the eyes and hear it in the beat of life around me.
Keep praying.

que sean bendecidos
