It is something that blows my mind. It is a truth that many know- when we are weak, God is strong. I have been having to just rest in that truth. I know that he is trustowrthy and I know that He will never give more than I can handle. I know also that He doesn't want me to be stagnant-growth is a good thing. I don't have to do anything except rest in Him. Right now I do need Him, and because of that I know that His power will have room to spread around. It's not that He really needed to wait for me to acknowledge that,but it does help things on my end.

Isaiah 40:28-31

28 Do you not know?


Have you not heard?

The LORD is the everlasting God,

the Creator of the ends of the earth.

He will not grow tired or weary,

and his understanding no one can fathom.



29 He gives strength to the weary

and increases the power of the weak.



30 Even youths grow tired and weary,

and young men stumble and fall;



31 but those who hope in the LORD

will renew their strength.

They will soar on wings like eagles;

they will run and not grow weary,

they will walk and not be faint.


When I'm weak,He makes me strong
When I'm blind, He shines His light on me
I will never get by living off my out ability

iniquity


Sins-forgiven

Iniquity-pardoned

Transgressions-blotted out


So have you been hit with invading thoughts? Anger, rage, dark, giving up, ect? The ones that are intense and make you think “where in the world did that come from?” are the iniquities coming to visit. Pray that they will be pardoned and ask for the pardon for your forefathers as well. That is all that needs to be done, pray that iniquity prayer and move on. You don’t have to let them cloud around you.


Embrace the fact that you are NOT right and that you DON’T have it all together. If you did then you wouldn’t need Him. Acknowledge your wrongness and His rightness. That is what righteousness is-agreeing with what is right. Walk in His rightness, not your own.

We need to just die-let Him know that we will be His people.

We are here to get INFECTED with God-that is our purpose. No one can take that away, we can leave this place and take it with us where ever we go.


Abide in His righteousness, peace and joy.

There are two words for ‘in’

Ice- within

En-rest, abide, live under the roof of

The word ‘in’ means in this case to go into those things-let them surround you.


Romans 14:17 For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit


When you let those things surround you the other outside invading thoughts have no place.


People are going to see the difference. They will enjoy looking at it, hearing the beautiful melody, smelling the sweet fragrance. However, that’s all they will do is admire it. Just like in Ezekiel -

Ezekiel 33:32 And, lo, thou art unto them as a very lovely song of one that hath a pleasant voice, and can play well on an instrument: for they hear thy words, but they do them not.

ask


Are you willing to be disappointed? Humanly speaking that is. Would you allow yourself to become that vulnerable to ask for Him to do big things even if they don’t happen? He says to ask—so why don’t we? Why are we afraid to ask for His blessing? I always think of Jabez. I remember reading the book when I was younger. It intrigued me so much. I started the challenge the presented in the book. The challenge was to pray Jabez’s prayer for thirty days. It was amazing, I started doing it and God started blessing. Now, it was ‘small’ things that happened but to my little mind it was living and breathing miracles! Like the day my cat came back home after I thought it had been lost, it was big stuff to me.

But why are people so afraid to ask? I know so many want to stay away from the ‘name it claim it’ and ‘prosperity gospel’ but what is wrong with asking? If we are to be grounded in faith then why not?! ‘Faith is the assurance of things hoped for’, right? That is what my Bible says at least.

1 Chronicles 4:9-10

9And Jabez was more honourable than his brethren: and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, Because I bare him with sorrow.

10And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested.

Ask, seek, knock.

Don’t be afraid­­­­. Try it.

..:the rush:..


Walking in you see the blank, brick halls, you smell the sent of the familiar smells of walking those halls before. First there is the stillness, the quite before the storm. Suddenly the storm hits, a wave of small bodies engulf you. Four hundred bodies to be exact, all ranging between the ages of 10 and 11. The air is thick with their anticipation of the night. I am still hearing their screams and squeals of energy that couldn’t be contained.

As I walked around in the beginning I was just soaking it all in. Every little child that pushed and shoved brought such happiness to me. I couldn’t have been more blessed. I walked from room to room watching the other volunteers interact with the children. I saw David in a hard core game of basketball with a mob of soon to be Michael Jordans; I watched James intently cheer the kids on the bungee blowup; in the cafeteria was Sam and Tony pouring drinks for the parched little ones, then there was Laura surrounded as she entertained them. Each person was seizing the opportunity to be Jesus to those around them. The love that was poured out was overwhelming. How amazing it was to be a part of those people serving uninhibited and unhindered. Watching Him pull people out of their comfort zone with out reserve was amazing.

There were so many vivid images that have stuck in my mind from that night. There can be nothing better than being pushed and pulled on by little hands. Nothing could surpass the eyes filled with wonder and excitement as they look into yours. But then again, not all the eyes were filled with light. There were eyes that held back the pain of silently fallen tears, the pain and hurts that were still fresh were displayed in their eyes. So many opportunities to pour love onto them and speak words of life were surrounding me. A few that stand out are the little kids from Burr Ridge. These kids were tough; they held their own and stuck together. Two of the girls kept walking past me, they would look as I smiled at them and they would squeal and run away. It started being a game, one would walk past while the other pocked and prodded me. They flipped my hair and would run like the dickens once the deed was done. Soon they gathered the rest of their crew to invade my bubble. I couldn’t walk past them without being assaulted by little fingers. No matter what they did I would laugh and joke with them. Mackenzie came up to me as I was helping on the bungee run, she looked at me and shouted above the noise, “Why you so happy all the time?!” Her look demanded an answer, so I replied, “Well, it’s a secret.” The look of shock came on her; she couldn’t believe I didn’t straight up tell her! I continued, “You have to figure it out, then come back and tell me!” She rushed off after that, a few moments later she returned looking as if she had conquered. “I know what it is, you have joy in your heart”, she stated. “You are SO close, but there is something more” I told her. Later in the cafeteria she found me, this time she was smiling shyly. I asked her if she had figured it out yet, with another smile she said that she had. “You have God in you”, she said with a smile. I beamed at her and told Mackenzie she was exactly right on!

Another image that is stuck in my head is this little boy screaming out for love in all the wrong ways. He knew that he needed something; he just didn’t know how to accept it. This little boy would come up and mock me, every word that I would say he would repeat back. Swatting his hand inches from my face he would pretend to try and hit; at times he would shove and then saunter off. Every time he would do those things it was an opportunity to saturate him with love. Once I caught on that he was going to repeat everything I said just to mock me, I started saying loving things to him. He would start to say them back but then he realized that what he would be repeating would be loving he then stopped. Around that time he got frustrated because he was receiving no negative reaction, that’s when he would try to physically push me. When he realized that nothing would faze me he stopped. It hurt so much to see a little boy starving for genuine love that he had to use hate to get it.

There are so many other pictures that will stay in my mind for a long time. There is nothing like what happened that night. What was so amazing was to know that God was honored and glorified throughout the entire night.

Eph 3:20-21:Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen

frozen


Fear

Taste it, smell it, feel it. We can sense it in every aspect of our lives. You think you have run away from it only to find you are smack in the middle of it. It oozes around you and constricts you. It whispers your name, speaking words of doubt. The words are seared into your mind; they ring loud and clear every time you try to make a decision. How can you escape? It appears to have latched into your mind and invaded all areas. It’s become this poison that has been injected and has stealthy spread throughout your being.

So many are held back by this thing called fear. To many it has been their way of life for as long as they can recall. Others have had it thrust upon them. They yearn to be released and free. Even Christians wrestle with this. They look at the people who are with out hindrance and without anything holding them back, they desire it so much. However, when they try for it they can’t rip the chains off. The chains have held them back for so long. The story of Little Dorritt by Charles Dickens just exudes this. Mr. Dorritt has been in the debtors’ prison for so long and when one day he is offered to step outside he cowers back, frozen in fear of what lies outside the cold walls of his prison. He would rather only know the confinement of the walls then taste the freedom of the fresh air outside of them.

Its time to claim the promise that God has NOT given us the spirit of fear but of love, power and sound mind. Those that live in the love will have power and will be able to make choices with a mind that is clear and free from any set backs. If you put on love it means that you have put on the new creature. If that is true then you have also put on Christ. So in him there is no condemnation-no fear. Live in it- this will be continued…
