choices

So there are these two amazing opportunities that are coming up within the next month.

First is-

Ultimate Quest

Here is kinda the overview of what it....
Ultimate Quest has been designed to teach young people aged 13-18 to see
life from God’s point of view and make wise decisions.

Isaiah 55:8 tells us that our thoughts are not God’s thoughts, neither are our ways like His ways.
Because we all tend to rely on how we feel or on what seemsright to us, Ultimate Quest seeks to show us
what God sees in our day-to-day situations and decisions.

Ultimate Quest consists of large group sessions, each being introduced by a thought provoking
video to stimulate interest in the topic. Each participant will also be part of a smaller group
led by a trained leader, where youth can share their thoughts and discuss the lessons presented to them.

Using illustrations and activities, Ultimate Quest shows in practical ways what it’s like to
live following God’s wisdom in the daily decisions we face in life. It also teaches wisdom in
how to deal with the difficult people, problems and trials that come our way.

So you want to know the amazing thing?! It is coming to Chicago! We will be hosting the Ultimate Quest in Oak Brook, IL on August 5-6, 2011. You may register online if you are able or we could probably send you a brochure if needed.

Take a look at their website for more information

For housing and such at Oak Brook there is just a suggested $10 donation.

UQ will also be coming to Oklahoma City, Houstin and Tampa!!!

Second opportunity

WIT Singles Conference

Here is a quick overview

During the past several years, Paul and Jenny Speed have had the joy of speaking to thousands of young people across America. They have helped many of these young people find freedom in their lives and a deeper love for God. The Speeds hearts’ desire is to equip young people by giving them the tools they need to walk in freedom and truth, and to empower them to be world changers! Out of this desire “WIT for Singles” was born!

So this is going to be the 3rd singles conference!!! I am so stinkin' excited about it all and can't wait for it to happen! I wish I could tell you why, but hey-how about you come and see for yourself? It's coming up soon-so let me leave you with this quote
"Go after God. Whatever it takes, do it. And don't give the excuse, 'I am just a teenager' or 'I'll do that when I grow up,' because it doesn't work that way. God wants you NOW." ~ Rachel Joy Scott

So I know that there are so many choices that you are going to be presented with for what to do with the rest of your summer. But what is going to last? Like for real. Think about it.

simply..love

I'm still stuck on it. No matter what, I have not been able to get these love concepts out of my head.
Love. Simple love. This guy still has rocked my world.

The next side of love.

Relational love.

"I mean that to be in a relationship with God is to be loved purely and furiously. And a person who thinks himself unlovable cannot be in a relationship with God because he can't accept who God is; a Being that is love."

Later he told the story of this play that he was writing. After reading this from the script I haven't stopped thinking and replaying these words through out my head.

When you grasp that concept of the love of God that he is talking about right there.
God risked HIMSELF on me.  It comes back to accepting that love-that pure and furious love- that is directed straight to you YOU. No catches, no expectations, just simply love.

What does that raw, untainted love look like? How does that look to you? To me I just can't even begin to understand-I can't comprehend that love. But I think coming to know a part of that love comes with loving others. It is such an awesome way to love Jesus more and to receive His love in a way only we as humans can experience. This love of dying to self and living for others.

God loves us all-He is delighted in each one of us. He sings over us and dances around us (Zeph 3:17) And we are to taste that as well-with our relationships with others. I am to love everyone and with hold no love from anyone. Even if that love is not returned I still must love.

[accept,change]

So I have been reading this book. I kinda was not knowing what to expect-it's a bit out there, this guy who is writing. It's taken me forever to actually start reading and find time to take in more than just a page or two at a time. The poor book has been on every road trip and I still had not finished it until just a few days ago. It made me smile, made me think-is that right? It challenged me where I was. This guy is a nut-totally bonkers. But he gets it-he gets the crazy, amazing love of Jesus. As I read the last couple chapters I couldn't believe the words that were jumping off the creamy pages in front of me. He went off on so many rabbit trails, so many ADHD thought patterns-from Bill Clinton, pot smoking hippies to the love of God.

Even though some of his ideas were just something I couldn't wrap my mind around I found myself finding this challenge in the midst of his crazy ideas. Because even if he is a bit off his rocker he still had grasped this part of God that I have yet to touch. I want to. I want to be just a bit off my rocker like this guy-if it means to understand the everlasting, realness of His love.

He was talking about the love of God. Not just for others but for us. Accepting that love for ME. YOU accepting that love. I think we forget about that part. I think we get so busy trying to love that we forget the fact sometimes that WE are loved with that everlasting love. Do we take the time to personally revel in that fact? Do we grasp the fact for real and let it rule in our lives?

Let me leave you with a bit of what he said-

" And so I have come to understand that strength, inner strength, comes from receiving love as much as it comes from giving it. i think apart from the idea that I am a sinner and God forgives me, this is the greatest lesson I have ever learned. When you get it, it changes you. My friend Julie from Seattle told me that the main prayer she prays for her husband is that he will be able to receive love. And this is the prayer I pray for all my friends because it is the key to happiness. God's love will never changes us if we don't accept it." D.M

..sacramento..

memory

Many were made-many laughs and some tears.
I'm sittin' in the airport and just going through my head all that has happened.
Is God really that good to me? To us?
Yes.
There is no doubt that all that has happened just in the past 6 months is because of His goodness.

He enjoys us enjoying what He has created.
And I am good with that.

Thinking about the people that I am allowed to work with is a whole other thing.
I couldn't really ask for anything more.
In every area I am blessed.

((..21..))

Ever had one of those moments you just know you won't forget?

Here are a few that I won't soon be forgetting for a long time to come.

I have been blessed to have my family in my life and now also these special people He has allowed me to cross paths with. There has been so much goodness spilling out over the last week that I can't contain it all.

My twenty-first birthday was an amazing one for sure. Monday we celebrated at home with family and a few friends.

Wednesday was incredible. So many people blessed me on my birthday-a pretty amazing surprise at Claim Jumpers with everyone coming there to celebrate...and afterwards some of the girls gathered around and prayed over me. I have been so blessed-blessed beyond measure.

I have been blessed
And I feel like I've found my way
I thank God for all I've been given
At the end of every day
I have been blessed
With so much more than I deserve
To be here with the ones
That love me
To love them so much it hurts
I have been blessed
